Tasty Thai Turmeric-Infused Cuisine at basil


In September and October at basil, Che Kesinee turns her creative culinary focus to turmeric or khamin. Prized for its anti-oxidant properties, the rhizome is a member of the ginger family. For her exciting menu, Chef Kesinee uses fresh and powdered turmeric to add earthy and citrusy notes and a vibrant yellow color. Her dishes include the traditional goong gula phad phrik khing, stir-fried tiger prawns with turmeric chili paste, the inventive nuea jorakhae khamin khao prik Thai dam, stir-fried crocodile with young turmeric and black pepper sauce, the Southern Thai gaeng som pla hima, spicy snow fish curry, and much more.

Aspiring chefs who want to learn Chef Kesinee’s basil recipes can take part in a special cooking class with Chef Kesinee. At only Baht 7,000 net per couple, the cooking class includes complimentary Thai herb drinks, recipes, apron and certificate.
