Located in north eastern Italy, the Allegrini estate is steeped in the culture and heritage of Fumane di Valpolicella, a small village just north of Verona. Since the sixteenth century, the Allegrini family has engaged in a tireless pursuit of perfection. Today, the family continue to uphold their rich legacy and combine indigenous grape varieties with innovative techniques to produce renowned Italian wines.
At the memorable 5-course dinner guests will be welcomed with Chef Alfredo’s delightful savory bites and sparkling Corte Giara Prosecco DOC, Treviso 2011. Diners will enjoy the first course of the evening, John Dory with sweet garlic sauce, broccoli and crispy Brussels sprouts served with Soave Classico DOC, Allegrini 2011. The second dish, tortelli stuffed with artichokes, goat cheese and crispy bacon will be paired with Allegrini Valpolicella Superiore DOC, 2010. A blend of three local grapes varieties, Corvina, Rondinalla and Molinara, the wine’s character is defined by heady cherry aromas and is regarded as one of the region’s most distinctive wines.

Chef Alfredo’s succulent lamb chops with creamed corn, nutmeg and lavender will be matched with the wonderfully intense and complexAllegrini Amarone della Valpollicella Classico DOC, 2008 while his luscious dessert of Gianduia parfait with hazelnut mousse and crunchy hazelnuts will be served with Allegrini Recioto Classico Giovanni, 2009, an extraordinarily concentrated sweet wine named after the estate’s founder, Giovanni Allegrini. The unforgettable evening of gourmet cuisine and fine wines will end with petit fours from Rossini and coffee and tea.
