Jazz-up 2012 at The Living Room

2012 gets off to a swinging start at The Living Room with a sparkling line-up of outstanding international jazz talent.

A highlight of Bangkok’s musical calendar is the return of jazz diva, Alice Day. Regarded as one of the world’s greatest jazz vocalists, Alice Day will perform at The Living Room from now until January 15, 2012 and from January 31 – April 1, 2012.

Born into the musical tradition of gospel, Alice has committed her life to music. Her professional singing career began while still a teenager growing up in Miami. Drawing inspiration from the greats such as Dinah Washington, Billie Holiday and Mahalia Jackson, Alice created her own distinctive style and is acknowledged as one of the finest jazz vocalist performing today.

Jazz Entrepreneur, Frank Spena once said of her, "Alice Day is a renaissance woman. She has the ability to mesmerize and captivate an audience with her stage presence. Whether singing an intimate ballad, or a raucous, belting blues, there ain't nobody does it better."

Jazz lovers can also experience the extraordinary musicianship of international stars such as The Shawn Kelley Trio performing with Malaysia’s foremost pianist, David Gomes from Tuesday – Saturday and at the Bangkok’s gourmet feast, the Sunday Jazzy Brunch, until end of March.

Guests can also feel the awesome musical power of the Cannon brothers with trumpeter, Steve Cannon, Thursday – Sunday night, and a solo performance from pianist, Randy Cannon, Wednesday – Friday from 17:30 - 20:15 hrs while the Randy Cannon Power Trio takes to the stage on Sunday and Monday nights.

This cool season, enjoy memorable evenings dining at The Sala’s renowned Barbecue under the Stars. The enchanting tropical garden and poolside setting make it the perfect place to chill and grill with style.

Every evening the relaxed dining experience serves a choice of premium quality barbecued meats and fresh seafood, crisp salads, and garnishes. Specialities from the international grill include Cajun chicken wings, Lebanese shish tawouk, Korean and American style barbecued ribs, Italian pork sausages, Caribbean seafood skewers, prime Australian steaks, and a tandoori oven offering fasty Indian dishes.
