On Friday October 18, 2013, Rossini’s award-winning Italian restaurant at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok, will host a special wine dinner with new Italian Chef, Paride Noviello. The gourmet dinner will feature outstanding Californian wines from “primoVino by Rossini’s”, winner of the coveted award for “Best International Hotel Wine List” in the “Wine List of the Year Thailand Awards”.
“primoVino by Rossini’s” is an exclusive partnership between Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit and Bangkok’s four leading wine merchants, BB&B, G Four Wines, Italasia Group and Wine Gallery.
At Rossini’s, diners will be warmly welcomed with delightful aperitifs and savory bites served with Prosecco Zardetto Brut.
Chef Paride’s first dish of the evening will be the delicious yellow fin tuna and langoustine with citrus fruits served with Twomey Sauvignon-Blanc Napa Valley 2011, a crisp and refreshing modern wine lifted by vibrant gooseberry notes that perfectly complement the delicate seafood.
The second dish of the evening will be duck and foie gras ravioli with blackberry and roasted topinambur. The rich and flavorsome ravioli with be accompanied by Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2005, an engaging yet restrained wine with firm tannins that was awarded 92 points by the world’s most influential wine writer, Robert Parker.
Diners will also enjoy cime di rapa soup with ricotta and shaved black truffle served with Napanook 2008. The exceptional vintage was lauded by Robert Parker as an “intense full bodied wine with an endearing texture and a long, pure finish and may be one of the greatest Napanooks made.” A highlight of the evening will be melt-in-the-mouth Wagyu rib eye tagliata with chanterelle mushrooms and Violetta plum chutney paired with the outstanding Dominus Napa Valley 2005. Rated 95 points by Robert Parker, the full-bodied red delivers excellent fruit intensity, complex aromatics, supple tannins, and a long finish.
Diners will enjoy a sweet finale of Manjari chocolate crème, pumpkin sorbet and strawberry salsa paired with the elegant after-dinner dessert red wine Ca'Togni 2005 by the artisanal winemaker, Philip Togni.
